Dx-pH System

Is Reflux Reaching

Your Throat?

If you’ve been dealing with a chronic cough, hoarseness, or the feeling of something stuck in your throat — or are experiencing other upper airway symptoms — you might benefit from a new approach.

The Reflux Dx-pH System is a diagnostic test designed to detect laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR): a type of reflux that travels all the way up to the throat and airway. Standard reflux tests are optimized for the esophagus. Restech is optimized for LPR.  Measure pH where your symptoms occur.

How it Works

A thin, flexible probe is gently placed through your nose and a sensor sits in your throat. You wear a small recorder for 24 hours while going about your normal day. The system tracks reflux activity throughout, so your doctor can see exactly what’s happening — and when.

What It Can Help Explain

The Restech Dx-pH System is often used when patients are experiencing:

  • Chronic cough
  • Hoarseness or a changing voice
  • Frequent throat clearing
  • Globus sensation (the feeling of something stuck in your throat)
  • Asthma that isn’t responding to treatment
  • Sleep disruption related to reflux

What Makes It Different

Most reflux tests are focused on what’s happening in the esophagus. The Restech Dx-pH System measures pH in the upper airway — above the upper esophageal sphincter — and can detect both liquid and aerosolized reflux. That distinction matters when reflux is affecting your throat, voice, or lungs rather than causing classic heartburn.

Your doctor reviews the results through Reflux Cloud™, a reporting platform that maps your reflux events to your symptoms. That kind of correlation is what makes it possible to finally connect the dots.

Is This Test Right for Me?

The Restech Dx-pH System is typically used by ENT specialists and Gastroenterologists for patients with unexplained upper airway symptoms. If that sounds like your situation, ask your doctor if you might benefit.
